It's Too Late to Say I'm Sorry |
From a badly told joke about a scientist and a priest, to a little boy's "friends" in the lake behind their house, Joey Comeau's It's Too Late To Say I'm Sorry pulls readers into every story and leaves them with a tale in their head to ponder for days. One of my favorite stories in the book tells about a perverted scientist and a thoughtful priest who work for the government trying to find miracles. The story takes place in a time when everything on Earth is constantly being recorded by a machine created to accurately depict human history from no one's point of view. The machine is now being used to try to figure out whether miracles do truly exist. "A scientist and a priest walk into a bar, trying to find miracles..." It's Too Late To Say I'm Sorry is a funny, and more often than not shocking, book of short stories by a softer world writer, Joey Comeau. If It's Too Late To Say I'm Sorry tickles your fancy, you might like Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk. --Joy, ETHS Books 'R Us Book Club |
